DBT Vinyl Giveaway! Enter to Win

This post is free for all to read, but if you enjoy Mundane Mayhem, please consider becoming a paid subscriber or leaving me a tip!

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all of the new (and old) subscribers I met at ShoalsFest last weekend in Florence, AL. I am so grateful to all of you for listening, reading, and subscribing. If you want to get to know me better, here's a little bit about me and why I started this newsletter.

I returned to north Brooklyn from north Alabama a few days ago, and I’m still figuring out how to sum up my experience at ShoalsFest in a way that will do it justice. I have an overwhelming amount of notes from an overwhelmingly profound weekend, and I promise to deliver a full recap soon.

If this is your first time reading Mundane Mayhem, you’ve arrived at the perfect moment. Today, Oct. 9, marks the one-year anniversary of launching this project, and we’re celebrating!

Mundane Mayhem DBT Vinyl Giveaway!

In honor of Mundane Mayhem’s anniversary, I’m hosting a giveaway (more on how to enter below), and the prize is THREE of my favorite Drive-By Truckers albums on vinyl (a total of 8 LPs!). Anyone who subscribes to Mundane Mayhem — including free and paid members — is eligible to win.

To enter to win, all you have to do is comment on a post on Mundane-Mayhem.com between today, Oct. 9, and Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 p.m. EST. You can comment as much as you'd like, but you will only be entered to win once. And of course, you should forward this email or link to all of the vinyl-loving people you know!

The giveaway prize includes:

• The Definitive Decoration Day LP, which includes Decoration Day (remixed and remastered) on 2 LPs, a live double album (Heathens Live at Flicker Bar, June 20, 2002), and a 40-page photo book with an essay from Stephen Deusner.
• The Live at Plan 9 LP, an outstanding live double album recorded July 13, 2006, at Plan 9 Records in Richmond, VA .
• Drive-By Truckers Live From Austin, TX, yet another awesome live double album recorded at Austin City Limits on September 23, 2008.

The giveaway prize is only available in vinyl format. But if you don't have a record player, this prize still makes a great gift (for the vinyl-loving friends I mentioned earlier) or maybe a donation to next year's Nuçi’s Space silent auction.

I’d like to thank New West Records (and especially Matt Etgen) for supplying two of the records included in this prize. Stay tuned later this month for an interview with Matt, Director of Art and Production at New West, who’ll share what happens behind the scenes of record-making, the story of how the Heathens Live at Flicker Bar album became a reality, and more.
